PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A semi-truck driver was killed in a Friday evening crash on US-131 near Rockford.
Around 11:50 p.m., troopers with the Michigan State Police were sent to southbound US-131 south of 10 Mile Road NE for a crash.
Responding troopers learned that a semi-truck was heading southbound when it left the roadway and went into the median and a heavily wooded area.
MSP said that the driver, a 51-year-old Mesick area man, died at the scene.
Troopers do not believe that alcohol is a contributing factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
