HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — You might want to look up in Hudsonville this weekend because there will be hot air balloons heading into the skies for the fourth annual Hudsonville Balloon Days.
It runs from Friday through Sunday at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds. Festivities start Friday at 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be 20 different hot air balloons taking to the skies. There will also be live entertainment, food trucks, craft vendors, a bounce house and more at the fairgrounds.
While it is going to be warm, Chief Meteorologist Ellen Bacca said the heat should not affect the flights, but they will be monitoring it. The balloons will take off Friday around 7 p.m., weather permitting. Organizers said they are excited to have the event back at the fairgrounds this year.
“All of the sponsors for the event are locally based, so Grand Rapids, Grandville, Hudsonville, Byron Center,” Derrick Jones, the director of Hudsonville Balloon Days, said. “I’m a huge fan of shop local, support local, live local and that’s why we do it.”
The event is free to attend and parking is $10. You are able to bring chairs and blankets to sit and watch the balloons.
