This summer hasn’t been like a slice of cherry pie for Ben Affleck.
“He’s just trying to stay focused and make every day as good as possible,” a source tells People about the actor who has seemingly been in a divorce standoff with his estranged wife, Jennifer Lopez.
“It hasn’t been the easiest summer for him either,” the source shared.
Despite that, the source divulged that the Oscar winner is “doing well” and keeping busy with work.
“He thrives when he’s busy and he’s been working nonstop,” the source shared about the actor who has been filming a sequel to his 2016 thriller “The Accountant” and producing several movies including “Unstoppable” and “Kiss of the Spider-Woman,” which stars Lopez.
Affleck has also been seeing his children.
“The kids are still off from school. He spends a lot of time with them, too,” the source added.
The estranged duo spent the summer apart with Lopez enjoying time in Europe and the Hamptons, while Affleck stayed in Los Angeles.
The couple, who had not one but two wedding ceremonies in 2022, have been on the rocks for several months.
Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 51, rekindled their relationship in July 2021, nearly twenty years after they had first gotten engaged.
They also brought their children into the union. Affleck shares three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner — Violet, 18, Fin, 17, and Sam, 12 — and Lopez shares twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony — Emme and Max, 16.
The “Jenny from the Block” singer was not shy about discussing the couple’s relationship.
Their relationship inspired her album, “This Is Me…Now,” and the accompanying Amazon Prime documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” co-starring Affleck.
“She is a romantic,” a source previously told Page Six.
However, cracks began to show several months ago when the couple put their home on the market for $68 million and Affleck moved into a rental home. He recently purchased a $20.5 million home in the Pacific Palisades.
According to TMZ, they are no longer speaking.
A source exclusively told Page Six that Lopez is “furious” and “humiliated” over the split and that the “Gone Girl” star is delaying divorce proceedings to spare her more embarrassment.
“She’s furious,” the source said. “He has humiliated her. He was the one who initiated getting back together.”
