
It was about this time four years ago that Francisco Lindor, then a newbie on the Mets, hit “rock bottom” in his season.
The struggling Lindor was in communication with a support network that included Carlos Beltrán, Carlos Delgado and Sandy Alomar Sr., but there is one conversation he had that resonated maybe the loudest.
Steve Cohen, who had signed Lindor to a $341 million contract extension before the season, called to offer encouragement to his slumping shortstop.
