Part of Marc Anthony‘s sprawling Dominican Republic estate caught fire early Thursday morning; however, the singer and his family and staff are all safe.
A rep for Anthony, 55, told The Post, “The fire started on the left side of the property,” which they described as being “in the area” where the home’s four guest bungalows are located.
The rep revealed that three bungalows were burned to the ground while one survived the blaze. A lounge area on the side of the property was also burned.
“The main house did not suffer any damage,” the rep added, “and the fire department has everything under control and started an investigation.”
The rep also told The Post that Marc and his family were not at the Dominican Republic home located in the exclusive La Romana neighborhood of Casa de Campo, a spot beloved by other celebrities such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber and more, as they were not in the country.
According to Anthony’s rep, all personnel who work at the home are safe. The rep went on to say that the singer is grateful to local emergency workers who responded to the fire quickly.
The fire broke out at 7 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, and emergency crews arrived within five minutes, according to Radio Panamericana via Dominican Today.
Firefighters battled the blaze for two hours before getting it under control.
No injuries were reported and staff members were evacuated before the fire engulfed the site, Dominican Today also reported.
Photos and videos posted on social media by local news outlets and bystanders showed the staggering extent of the blaze. In one video, the roof of one of Anthony’s bungalows can be seen completely collapsing.
The fire sent thick black smoke into the air, which could be seen for miles.
Anthony purchased the estate in 2014 while married to his now ex-wife, Shannon De Lima. The couple split in 2017. Anthony remarried last year, tying the knot with model Nadia Ferreira.
Before that, he was famously married to Jennifer Lopez.
“El Oasis” was profiled by Architectural Digest in 2017. The residence’s luxurious features include two pools (one with an artificial beach), multiple entertainment pavilions, home theaters, artwork by Fernando Varela, Indian stone statues, and, perhaps most importantly, being situated just feet from the Caribbean Sea.
Anthony usually uses the residence as a place to bring family and friends in the summer, on Spring Break, or even Christmas and New Year’s, according to Hola!
The estate can reportedly house up to 24 people.
