In the first episode, the Earl of Manton, his wife, their manservant, and Lady Manton’s maid have been booked on the Titanic for a long time. The Earl arranges for his rebellious daughter, Georgiana, to join them at the last minute. On the ship, tensions arise between Lady Manton and Muriel Batley, the wife of the Earl’s employee, John Batley. The ship hits an iceberg, and while Georgiana is put on a lifeboat, Lady Manton refuses to leave her husband.
